Technical Questions / Re: How to add a new attribute
« Last post by Matthew Searle on March 23, 2015, 09:29:15 AM »

You need to open the Workflow definition in Workflow Builder and then add the new attribute there (right click on Attributes, then new and add your definition).

Depending on how the Workflow process is launched, you can populate it in a range of ways. For example, if the process launches via the business event system, you can add the new attribute as a parameter to the event subscription and pass it through that way. Alternatively, you could modify the PL/SQL which starts the process and add it there. Finally, you could modify the Workflow process to include a new custom activity which sets the attribute to the correct version.

Of these, the first would be my preferred, but is not always possible. If it isn't, then I would customise the process and include a new activity to set the value for you.

Technical Questions / Change email notification buttons position
« Last post by depsha on November 30, 2014, 12:31:02 PM »

I am having requirement where user wants to see email notification buttons (e.g Approve, Reject)
at the top of notification.

Standard these buttons comes at bottom of notification.

Is this possible?

I am new to Oracle EBS Workflow. Our requirement is to create a Leave Absence /Update and Delete it via Backend Procedure.

I am able to Create and Delete a leave absence.  our requirement is to UPDATE  a leave absence once it got Approved.

But when I try to Update the leave (after approval) I am not getting any error. But for the Approver latest updated value is not getting displaying instead only the old values are shown. But once I approve this after approval it is showing the Updated value in the screen.

I really got confused about what is happening. tried a lot with code changes but of vain. my piece of code below.

Pls. help me out in solving this. what I am missing ...

P_TRANSACTION_ID                        =>        P_TRANSACTION_ID

P_API_NAME                 =>     p_step_api_name
 ,P_API_DISPLAY_NAME         =>     p_step_api_display_name
 ,P_PROCESSING_ORDER         =>     p_step_processing_order

hr_transaction_swi.setTransactionStatus(p_transaction_id, NULL,
'PER_ABSENCE_ATTENDANCES', NULL, 'A', hr_api.g_true_num, lv_status);
Technical Questions / Re: Resubmit a Rejected Workflow
« Last post by Arun on September 30, 2014, 09:37:24 PM »

Not sure about your exact requirement.. But, this is some what similar to the Requisition/PO process in Oracle right ? When a req/PO is created, the status will be 'Incomplete'. When preparer submits it (Approve button on form), then it triggers the WF, and status changes to IN PROCESS. Later on if any manager rejects the req/PO, the workflow puts the document into INCOMPLETE status again (after sending a notification to preparer that wf is rejected). The form allows to query INCOMPLETE status req/PO and then allows to submit the 'Approve' button again, which will trigger wf again!

Technical Questions / Re: Modified Requisition Approval Workflow not executing

Have you checked whether the "Runnable" property of the new process is checked in the properties ? I think the Req Import is taking the workflow defined in the document type set up.

Oracle user guide says the below, so one thing would be to check the status of the reqs you import:
If the requisitions you import are Pre-Approved or incomplete, Requisition Import calls the PO Requisition Approval workflow to submit the requisitions to the approval process. If the requisitions you import are already approved, Requisition Import calls the PO Create Documents workflow in Purchasing to automatically create corresponding purchase orders; the PO Create Documents workflow then calls the PO Approval workflow to approve the purchase orders, if you've enabled automatic approval. See: Choosing Document Creation Options.

Technical Questions / Modified Requisition Approval Workflow not executing
« Last post by lscola77 on September 23, 2014, 10:39:31 PM »

I am using Oracle 12.1.3.  I have modified the Requisition Approval workflow by copying the 'Main Requisition Approval" process in the Requisition Item Type to a new process name and adding two new functions. I have also changed the Purchasing Document type to now use my new process. However, when testing this via a batch submission of the REQIMPORT process, my new process is not being executed.

I was told that the batch process may not be affected by the document type changes in the app.  I tried to find what process is being called by the REQIMPORT program (POCIRM), but I cannot find it.

Any help appreciated.
